I am still amazed at how much access I had at Elkhart Lake. No other track allowed press in pit lane during warmup and qualifying. It must be that there was only a fraction of the press people you find at other tracks, and that there is immense space between each pit stall and the walls. The image was taken at 20mm focal length, held above the ground only inches away from the car, as he took off for another few laps of qualifying. I experimented with exposure speeds between 1/45th and 1/125th of a second and I feel those with 1/90th look best. compare this to the 1/45th in the Cheever takeoff image in the pit lane section
