Pit Lane at Laguna Seca during Saturday morning warmup. The sky was dark that morning - heavy high fog from the bay was rolling across the hills around the track, and I decided to stay in pit lane with a flash, rahther than to haul a heavy 600mm to the corscrew up on the hill, only to realize that there wasn't enough light for that big lens. The decision was good: great access for press allowed me to repeat the images I tried at Elkhart lake, but this time with a wider lens and the flash. The dark car of Foyt's team seems to lend itself best for these blur shots, although I realized that I should have had the flash expose at the end of the 1/45sec exposure... You'll never learn all the tricks...

Tech Info: 14mm/f2.8, f11, 1/45sec, fill flash at -2/3 stop, EOS-1N, handheld, Fuji Super G 100asa
