This image is the product of a mistake at the photolab: a roll of Fuji Provia 100 was processed as C41 negative! At first I was going to throw out the roll, but I got curious as to what I could pull out of it with my computer. The results were pretty disappointing until I found this frame, which would have been a razor-sharp slide had it been processed properly. I was standing at the apex of turn 8, the entrance to the corkscrew at laguna Seca, and the afternoon sun of Friday qualifying was reflected at a great angle off the car. The chemistry mistake mad ethe image very contrasty and emphasizes the reflection off the cockpit. The intense colors of the Tasman car are also rendered in a very interesting hue. This is not an image I would plan to repeat, but it still stands out as one of the most interesting results from Laguna Seca this year.

Tech Info: 300/f2.8, f5.6, 1/500sec, EOS-1N, handheld, Fuji Provia 100 exposed at 200 asa, developed in C41 process.
