Here a picture of the 2006 version of the cable, finished off with WBT Nextgen plugs. Why these plugs? If you can afford them, they eliminate just about all the complicated steps to properly solder the Eichmanns. IT took me less than 10 minutes to put all 4 of these on the ends of the new interconnect, including the heat shrink below (stiff stuff from Chris Venhaus - very good connection with the set screw). The other reason was that I had trouble with Eichmann plugs pushing the core out of some of my WBT Nextgen RCA jacks on components. They do look cool, but note that these will cost almost 4 times the price of copper Eichmanns. Don't even think about the cost of silver Nextgens. Another advantage of these is that the blue sleeves will lock the pin tight on the component. I had some problems with Eichmann cables under straing where the cable strain over time pulled the ground pin off an RCA connector, resulting in massive hum. Sound comparison? So far, I don't think there really is an audible difference between the copper Eichmann and the copper Nextgen plugs. I sent both cables off to cryo treatment. Maybe that will change the results.
