Here are the raw materials I used for this particular cable design. to build these cables, you'll need: 1/4" cotton rope (the one I used has a poly core, and a smoothly woven cotton jacket around it Teflon plumber's tape Heat shrink tubing (I use 3:1 shrink 3/4" tubing with glue inside. Smaller tubes won't fit over the plugs) 30awg 99.999% silver wire, uninsulated Flex tubing (optional, but highly recommended) - I use 5/8" tubing Eichmann Bullet plugs (or whatever plug you feel is worth your efforts. These plugs have a great cost/performance ratio. Silver version is expensive...) not shown are some glue - either hotglue, or carpenter's wood glue like I used you'll also need some tape to secure wires on the rope during construction - I used duct tape. |
